The Ranger still comes standard with a turbocharged 2.3-liter four-cylinder delivering 270 horses, which is more than enough for everyday driving and city use. The optional twin-turbo 2.7-liter V6 bumps those output numbers up to 315 horsepower and feels noticeably quicker. You can pair the four-cylinder with either rear- or four-wheel drive, while the V6 only features 4x4.
The EPA hasn’t published fuel economy numbers for the 2026 Ranger yet, but we expect them to be the same. For reference, the 2025 four-cylinder model rates at 21 mpg city and 26 mpg highway with rear-wheel drive, or 19 mpg city and 26 mpg highway with four-wheel drive.
