The F-150 Lighting is the all-electric version of Ford’s popular light-duty truck. Even though it operates on battery power alone, this EV truck can tow up to 10,000 pounds. Max payloads reach 2,235 pounds, depending on equipment.

How long does the 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning battery last?

There are two battery packs available for the F-150 Lightning, standard and extended-range.

The standard 98-kWh battery pack gives you:

426 horsepower and 775 lb-ft of torque
230-mile range
68 MPGe combined (76 city/61 highway)

With the extended-range 131-kWh battery pack, you get:

563 hp, 775 lb-ft
320-mile range
70 MPGe combined (78 city/63 highway)

Can the F-150 Lightning power a house?

Absolutely. With the proper equipment — namely, the Pro Power Onboard electric generator and 80-amp Ford Charge Station Pro — your F-150 Lightning can power your home with its battery. If the power goes out on your street, you can use the extended-range battery to power the average home for up to three days. If you ration your truck’s battery power, you can extend that period to up to 10 days!

How much does the 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning cost?

As you may have deduced, the F-150 Lightning price varies according to which trim level and optional features you select.

The entry-level Pro model gives you the best price, and it comes with all the basics, including a 12-inch infotainment touchscreen, dual-zone automatic climate control, and LED headlights.

With the mid-level XLT, you get a little more comfort and luxury, with cloth seating and a leather-wrapped steering wheel. This F-150 Lightning is also available with more options, including the Pro Power Onboard station and adaptive cruise control.

Luxury comes standard with the Lariat, which features leather upholstery, ventilated front seats, and an eight-speaker Bang & Olufsen sound system. And this trim model is also available with a twin-panel panoramic sunroof and Ford’s Blue Cruise semi-autonomous driving system.

The top-tier trim, the Platinum, is loaded with all of the aforementioned luxury features. And it also adds upgraded leather upholstery, front-seat massage settings, and an 18-speaker B&O sound system. This EV truck even comes with the Max Trailer tow package to help you move the biggest possible trailer (up to 10,000 pounds). When you purchase the F-150 Lightning Platinum, Ford will also send a third-party technician to your home to install the Ford Charge Station Pro. It adds 30 miles of driving range per hour of charge.
